The municipality of Copenhagen and Citelum have chosen the Nyx Bollard 1200 for the area around Lake Peblinge and Sortedam in central Copenhagen where 131 bollards ensure runners and pedestrians a safe tour round the lakes.
When planning the light facility the parties involved have focused on the quality of light. They required pleasant, non-glaring light which will not disturb people living in the popular area around the lakes or using it for recreation. The light from the bollards is not reflected in the water in the same degree as light from taller poles. In a pre-testing of five different products the Nyx Bollard came out as the winner. Its directed LED limits light to the trafic areas without waste light. Using 12 watts LED the Nyx Bollard meets the E2 road standards.
The Nyx Bollard by Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects (2005) is often used in urban areas due to its minimalistic design and pleasant light. The bollard is available in two heights, 1000 and 1200 mm, and it is coated black, graphite or silver grey. For the project in central Copenhagen the Nyx Bollard was painted in RAL 7024, the "Copenhagen colour".
