Nyx and Square in the sun at Sundbyøster Public School

Multiple Nyx, design Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects
Mangor & Nagel Architects have rebuilt the Sundbyøster Public School at Amager. They have chosen the Nyx and Square luminaires in corten brown for the surroundings. The corten brown colour fits the redish-brown tiles and the woodwork characteristic for the old and new school buildings. You can read Mangor & Nagel's description of the project here.

Focus Lighting has supplied Nyx Bollards, Nyx 330, Multiple Nyx, and Square 250 in corten brown for the project. More photos follow below.

Jesper Blæsild has shot the photos of the Nyx luminaires at Sundbyøster on a clear, sunny autumn day. It is evident that the corten brown colour becomes lively and changes along with the intensity of the daylight. The luminaires become sculptures even without the light turned on.

The image below is from Esbjerg Brygge - just to show the Nyx sculpture with the light turned on.
